Joy in the Spirit

"I rejoice at Thy word as one who finds great spoil" (Ps. 119:162). Many people think they must be only solemn in their worship of God, that worship should carry with it only a sense of reverence and respect for the Creator.

They're partly right - solemnity and respect for God are a part of worship. But in worship there should also be a deep sense of joy flowing from the heart that knows and worships God.

The Word of God contains the treasures of God's glory. Each time we open the Scriptures with a pure heart, we we'll discover another jewel in the character of God. Those diamonds in His character will bring great delight to our hearts, which will result in joyful worship.
